The best iphone insurance for you may be the one that gives you cover that you think is reasonable and at a cost that strikes you as being reasonable for the value delivered.

However, that may strike you as a rather complex definition. Surely the best iphone insurance is the cheapest?

Unfortunately, it may not be that simple because, apart from anything else, what’s best for someone else may not be best for you.

Consider, for example, someone that believes their iphone cover is ‘the best’ simply because it’s costing less than yours. That may be a perfectly acceptable definition for them however, perhaps their policy doesn’t cover breakdowns outside of the manufacturer’s warranty while yours does.

So which one is best?

If they are prepared to take the risk of needing to pay for expensive repairs themselves then perhaps it is, for them, adequate insurance. However, if the thought of having to write out a cheque for a huge repair bill fills you with horror, then clearly their insurance wouldn’t be best for you.

It is necessary to consider all the elements of risk and cover to decide what you consider to be your minimum requirements. That may include:

• theft;

• accidental destruction or serious damage of your iphone;

• breakdowns outside of the manufacturer’s warranty period and

• loss (available as an optional extra with some policies).

Some insurers also offer both global cover (for outside of the UK) and a guaranteed 48 hour replacement of your iphone once any claim has been approved.

So, you’d also have to consider whether these things were of value to you in terms of deciding what is or is not suitable iphone insurance cover.

Of course, as with any insurance product, terms and conditions, exclusions and limitations will apply and you may wish to read these carefully to ensure you understand them.

All these reasons may mean thinking long and hard about the cover you require before actually making that final decision. That’s why trying to state what is the best iphone insurance just isn’t possible. That’s a decision only you can make!
